Skiing in the Cascade Mountains

I appreciate the guest post, Emerson Moses
When I think of winter vacations, I always think of skiing in Wisconsin. Each January, our family takes a trip to the Cascade Mountains in the southern region of the state. The location is a perfect spot to take a skiing vacation with children because it is close enough to stay in one of the amazing indoor water park hotels of the Wisconsin Dells. I also love that this mountain has a range of winter activities that delight everyone in our family, from our youngest son who likes to ski the bunny slopes to our oldest daughter who enjoys snowboarding.
With two kids, packing for our winter ski vacation can be daunting. Though we do rent ski equipment for our son, we actually pack skis for my husband and I. My daughter also brings her own snowboard. So, packing for our Wisconsin ski trip usually takes a few hours. I let my husband pack the car and tie any ski equipment to the roof. Meanwhile, I take responsibility for other necessary preparations, like setting our ADT home security alarm and notifying the neighbors that we will be leaving for a week. The entire pre-vacation process can be time consuming, but it is all worth it once we hit the slopes.
