Ranking the Last 16 of Champions League

December 15th 2010 15:34

The draw for the knockout stage takes place tomorrow and we will see what type of great pairings we will have. Going into the draw a team could be a favorite but one bad draw and the could be going home.

Sixteen teams are left and i have put them in order of 1 to 16 to whom i think has the best chance for the title. I will also give what i think is the one team the don't wanna see in the draw.

1. Barcelona = Doesn't wanna see Arsenal

2. Manchester United = Doesn't wanna see Inter Milan

3. Chelsea = Doesn't wanna see Inter Milan

4. Real Madrid= Doesn't wanna see Arsenal

5. Bayern Munchen = Doesn't wanna see Arsenal or Inter Milan

6. Inter Milan= Would love to pull Shakhtar Donetsk

7. Arsenal = Best result would be Schalke 04

8. Valenica = Would love to see matchup against Tottenham

9. Tottenham = Same as above Valenica vs Tottenham would be great.

10. Lyon = Best shot is against Tottenham or Shakhtar

11. Schalke 04= needs Kobenhaven or AS Roma

12. Marseille = Needs Schalke or Shakhtar

13. AS Roma = Needs Schalke or Shakhtar

14. AC Milan = Great team but needs Schalke or Shaktar to advance.

15. FC Kobenhaven= one shot needs Shaktar

16. Shakhtar Donetsk = only real shot to me is draw against Kobenhaven

Now this is totally my opinion and has no real thinking behind it. But come tommorow we will see what we get think we could have these matchups.

Manchester United vs Inter Milan
Barcelona vs Arsenal
Real Madrid vs Lyon
Chelsea vs Valencia
Tottenham vs AC Milan
Bayern Munchen vs Marseille

Schalke is a far better team than Lyon. When I watched their 4-0 torching victory, it might as well have been 10-0. Besides Michel Bastos and maybe Lisandro Lopez, nobody- especially Jimmy Briand- looked like they even cared. Metzelder, Huntelaar, and Raul absolutely dominated them.

I just think Lyon is better call me crazy. Don't think either team will pass this stage of tourney unless something crazy happens.

I was gonna do a post just like this haha! good idea! I love this competition because who knows what the draw will throw up. If Real and Barca draw English sides, and they knock eachother out, the likes of Schalke or even Spurs, could sneak as far as the semi's

no matter what it takes the english clubs will rule this stage as they are ruling for the past four to five years.
