The Atlanta Falcons are on the verge of claiming a playoff spot. Holding a one game lead on Chicago and Dallas Atlanta controls their own destiny. This Thursday Atlanta will welcome the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville comes into the contest with Maurice Jones Drew on pace for over 1500 yards rushing.
Jacksonville destroyed Tampa Bay on Sunday giving them hopes for the remainder of the season. Atlanta was on the brink of defeat until the stormed back to shock Carolina. With that win over Carolina Atlanta holds the number five spot for the NFC.
Matt Ryan is having a career season. He is on pace for over 4000 yards passing and 28 touchdowns. Ryan in his fourth year out of Boston College has had his ups and downs but overall this is his best season as a pro.
RB Michael Turner broke the 1000 yard mark last game for the third time in his career. On pace for about 1300 yards Turner will be a key to the Falcons playoff push.
Atlanta should have no problem winning this game against Jacksonville and all but assure themselves of a playoff spot.
