Germany Team Schalke 04 are making big moves!

August 31st 2010 13:39

Schalke 04 has made two big signings to help booster the team after a 0-2 start to the season. Schalke 04 were runner ups last year in the Bundesliga.

Transfer News from ESPN soccernet.

German side Schalke 04 have signed Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from AC Milan for a fee of around €13 million.

Huntelaar struggled to nail down a starting place in his first season at the San Siro last term and has been linked with a move away from the club for some time. He joins former Real Madrid team-mate Raul at Schalke, last season's Bundesliga runners-up.

"Negotiations were tougher than expected. I am happy to have Klaas-Jan. He will help us," Schalke boss Felix Magath told Bild newspaper.

The 27-year-old, played for four years at Ajax Amsterdam before moving to Real in 2009 where he also failed to establish himself.

"Klaas-Jan wants to continue his career at Schalke. Schalke and Milan have agreed on a transfer fee of about 13 million euros," he said on his personal website. "It is true I never wanted to leave Milan but that changed when Zlatan Ibrahimovic came from Barcelona," he said.

Schalke have also agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid for Jose Manuel Jurado. No details of the deal were announced but Spanish media are reporting that Schalke will pay around €13 million for the 24-year-old.

An Atletico statement said: ''Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Schalke for the transfer of Jose Manuel Jurado to the German team. The agreement between the two teams was closed on the night of August 30. In the coming hours he will leave for Germany, where he will be presented by Schalke.

''Atletico Madrid want to thank him for his professionalism and dedication during the years he has been at the Vicente Calderon. We also wish him the best in this new stage of his career.''

Jurado said: ''I know that I'm leaving my home, my friends, but there are times in life when you cannot say no.

''I'm a little sad because this is my home and I've been treated very well here. I give thanks to my team-mates and all the staff at the club because they've been phenomenal with me. I hope that it will be a 'see you later' rather than goodbye.

''I hope Atletico Madrid continue like they have been doing and have lots of luck this season.''
