England's second tier of football kicked off this weekend. All three new members of the league won in their first match. Brighton&Hove, Peterborough United and Southhampton all won at home to start their quest for Premier League glory
English League One got its season kicked off on Saturday with a slate of full action. Their are four newcomers to League one this year. Three of those teams earned draws in their first match. Bury, Stevenage and Wycombe Wanderers all earned those draws. Chesterfield the other new club lost 1-0 on the road
The 2011/2012 Football League Two kicked off on Saturday. Swindon Town was the most dominate team with their 3-0 victory at home against Crewe Alexandra. Newcomers AFC Wimbledon and Crawley Town had mixed results. Wimbledon lost at home to Bristol Rovers while Crawley Town earned a drwa on the road against Port Vale
The English League Championship kicks off on Friday August 5th with Hull City 11th last year in the League hosting relegated Premier League side Blackpool
On July 29th the new Carling Cup season kicked off. In the only action of the preliminary round Crawley Town came back from one goal down on two occasions to defeat AFC Wimbledon 3-2. Crawley Town will now advance to the first round on Aug 9. They will travel to play Crystal Palace
