Champions League accepts 8 to knockout stage

Some teams had punched their tickets before the final day. Some where just battling for first or second while two teams did what the could to get in. Know that the final matchday has passed for Groups A,B,C and D we have eight teams heading to the Knockout stage of the Champions League.

Group Winners:

A. Tottenham Hotspur(England)
B. FC Schalke 04(Germany)
C. Manchester United FC (England)
D. FC Barcelona(Spain)

Group Runnerups:

A. FC Internazionale Milano(Italy)
B. Olympique Lyonnais(France)
C. Valencia CF(Spain)
D. FC Koberhaven(Denmark)

Teams Heading to Europa League

A. FC Twente(Netherlands)
B. SL Benfica(Portugal)
C. Rangers FC(Scotland)
D. FC Rubin Kazan(Russia)

Eight more teams will advance to the Knockoutstage Today.

The Round of 16 will play between Feb15-23 and March 8-16

Draw will be held Dec 17

The last 16 draw is going to be interesting, i'm not even sure if topping your group is that good of a thing given the teams finishing 2nd!

Just putting this out there, Lyon looked really bad in their last game against Schalke. When I was watching it, I saw Lyon getting overwhelmed by a far better team offensively. Lyon's defense- especially Jimmy Briand- really struggled against a subpar Schalke defense.
