Aww Christmas is here and this is where we stand in England

December 21st 2010 12:05
Well we are almost to the half way point of the season. Looking thru the top five divisions as the players enjoy their Christmas break we see a lot of interesting things.

Conference:

AFC Wimbledon lead the table with 41 points as Crawley Town, Luton Town and Newport County are sitting one, two, three points back respectively. Like with all divisions the matches played are different as Newport County as played 22 matches while AFC Wimbledon and Luton Town have played in 20 matches. Crawley Town is the only team in the league to play in only 19 matches so far.

Altrincham(14), Southport(18), Histon(19) and Hayes&Yeading(20) are sitting in regulation zone.

League Two:

Chesterfield(38), Port Vale(36) and Bury(34) are all sitting in promotion spots right now. but Rotherham United(34) and Shrewsbury Town(33) are right their for the fight. All these teams have played 19 matches.

Hereford United(15) and Barnet(19) are both in the regulation zone.

League One:

Brighton(36) and Sheffield Wednesday(33) are currently in the promotion zone. Huddersfield Town and Charlton Athletic are sitting just one point behind Sheffield. Sheffield has played two more games than the other teams.

Yeovil Town(16), Walsall(17), Dagenham& Redbridge(18) and Bristol Rovers(22) are all in the regulation zone. Three other teams have 22 points so far this season so it will be a battle to stay in league.

Championship:

Queens Park Rangers(41) and Leeds United(38) are sitting in the payoff spot. Both teams would advance to the Premier League if things ended today.Cardiff City(37), Swansea City(37), Norwich City(36) and Coverty City(34) all are within striking distance and are sitting in the playoff postions for the last spot to join the Premier League.

Preston North End(19), Scunthorpe United(20) and Crystal Palace(21) are sitting in the dreaded regulation zone.

Premier League:

Top four teams seperated by three points as Manchester United(34) holds a slight lead over Arsenal(32), Manchester City(32) and Chelsea(31). With United only having played 16 matches and City playing 18 this gap will surley grow once all games are caught up.

West Ham United(13), Wolverhampoton(15) and Wigan Athletic(16) are in the worse place to be in the regulation zone.

Through out all the leagues it has been a great season so far. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas are what ever you celebrate.

Thanks for Reading, Rick Gillispie

Manchester United are really riding on Javier Hernandez- one of my favorites- and Sir Alex Ferguson. Is Fergie the best manager in the world? I sincerely think so give that he has done better than Mourinho thus far. Man Utd are talented, but player for player Real are a better team. I just feel that Sir Alex has put in a lot to get this team undefeated in the world's toughest league even with injuries and player inconsistencies.
