A Few Surprises during Matchday One at Champions League

Eight matches took place on day one of Matchday one of the group stage. I was surprised a little with some of the results. AC Milan scored in the first minute of the match but needed to score late to earn a draw with Barcelona. The surprise to me is AC Milan did this on the road giving them a leg up to win their group

Sorry been away for a few weeks. The Group Stage Draw was held today and Manchester City got the group of death. City will battle the likes of Bayern Munich, Villarreal and Napoli. This will be hard for any club to overcome but i still like City to advance

Valletta moves on after 2-1 defeat of Tre Fiori in Chapions League

William Barbosa scored in the 88th minute to put the finishing touches on Valletta's first round triumph over Tre Fiori. Valletta defeated Tre Fiori 2-1 in the second leg to go along with the 3-0 victory in the first leg. Valletta advances to the second round where the will play FK EKranas of Lithuania

F91 Dudelange advances over FC Santa Coloma to second round of Champions League

F91 Dudelange advanced to the second round of the 2011/2012 Champions League after dispatching of FC Santa Coloma. Dudelange won both matches by a score of 2-0 to win the aggregate 4-0. With brand new coach Daniel Theis leading them Dudelange was unstoppable. After goals by Jean-Sebastien Legros and Jean-Philippe Caillet at Santa Coloma Dudelange received two goals from Amodou Abdullei at home to win the series

Road teams Cruise in First Qualifying Round

Sorry for the lateness of this post. I have been on vacation and just got back into town. The first matches of the 2011/2012 Champions League was all about the road clubs. Both F91 Dudelange and Valletta FC went into hostile areas and came over victorious. Nothing is assured yet for these clubs but both will host the next fixture with a chance to ensure the move on
