Champions League Watch - August 2011

Three Way time in German after Four Matches

Bayern Munich,Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen all have nine points after the fourth matchday. But these teams have no room to relax as Hannover 96 with eight points and Borussia Monchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund, Mainz and Bayer Leverkusen with seven points all sit within striking distance. The two new clubs have had mixed results. Hertha BSC sits with five points comfortable in the middle of the pack while FC Augsburg is struggling with only two points.

Spanish Liga kicks off with a bang

After taking the first week off because of the strike. Spain's La Liga got started on Saturday. Stuck at work only got to watch highlights and the Real Madrid game i had recorded. Like last year Barcelona and Real Madrid showed the are the best teams in the league and the world. Both clubs one easily

And the Draw is set. Champions League Group Stage ready

Sorry been away for a few weeks. The Group Stage Draw was held today and Manchester City got the group of death. City will battle the likes of Bayern Munich, Villarreal and Napoli. This will be hard for any club to overcome but i still like City to advance

English Conference Matchday One Results

Matchday Two for the Bundesliga

Well Matchday two is over for the Bundesliga. Mainz and Hannover 96 lead the table with six points a piece. Mainz defeated SC Freiburg on the road while Hannover 96 also on the road defeated Nurnberg. Defending Champions Borussia Dortmund lost on the road 1-0 to TSG Hoffenheim while fan favirote Bayern Munich defeated VFL Wolfsburg 1-0 on the road

All three newcomers win on Matchday One of English Championship League

England's second tier of football kicked off this weekend. All three new members of the league won in their first match. Brighton&Hove, Peterborough United and Southhampton all won at home to start their quest for Premier League glory

Breaking Down English League One first Matchday

English League One got its season kicked off on Saturday with a slate of full action. Their are four newcomers to League one this year. Three of those teams earned draws in their first match. Bury, Stevenage and Wycombe Wanderers all earned those draws. Chesterfield the other new club lost 1-0 on the road

Breaking Down Matchday One for Football League Two

The 2011/2012 Football League Two kicked off on Saturday. Swindon Town was the most dominate team with their 3-0 victory at home against Crewe Alexandra. Newcomers AFC Wimbledon and Crawley Town had mixed results. Wimbledon lost at home to Bristol Rovers while Crawley Town earned a drwa on the road against Port Vale

Breaking down the opening Weekend in French Ligue 1

The 2011/2012 French Ligue 1 kicked off over the weekend with a shocker in Paris. Paris Saint-Germain spent lots of money in offseason but lost at home on opening day 0-1 to Lorient. Their are three new members to the Ligue 1 this year. AC Ajaccio and Dijon FCO both lost at home while Evian Thonon Gaillard managed to get a point on the road against Brest

The 2011/2012 German Bundesliga kicked off on Friday when defending champion Borussia Dortmund defeated Hamburg SV 3-1. Six other matches took place on Saturday with the final two taking place on Sunday

The Champions League has hit the Playoff Stage of the competition. Twenty teams will play to earn their way into the group stage of the 2011/2012 Champions League. The Ten clubs that lose will not be done. They will move to the group stage of the Europa League

Crawley Town defeated AFC Wimbledon 3-2 to kick off Carling Cup

On July 29th the new Carling Cup season kicked off. In the only action of the preliminary round Crawley Town came back from one goal down on two occasions to defeat AFC Wimbledon 3-2. Crawley Town will now advance to the first round on Aug 9. They will travel to play Crystal Palace

Preparing our family for our upcoming camping trip

I'm not really sure what happened while I was a kid, but somehow I appointed myself as the official camping go-to person in our family. I guess that being a Boy Scout, I saw it as my duty to take on this and plan everything possible for our camping trips. Well, it hasn't changed now that I have kids of m own. I'm working on planning a trip with our kids and our parents, which is going to be the biggest camping trip that we've been on in a good while
